HND Nutrition and Dietetics Syllabus

Malnutrition in its various forms — undernutrition, micronutrient deficiency, and obesity — is a major public health challenge in Cameroon. Nutrition and Dietetics graduates are trained to assess nutritional status, design therapeutic diets, and educate communities.

The program combines food science, biochemistry, microbiology, and clinical nutrition. You graduate able to work in hospital dietary departments, community nutrition programmes, and food companies.

With growing awareness of diet-related diseases in urban Cameroon and persistent undernutrition challenges in rural areas, nutrition professionals are increasingly valued.

The HND Nutrition and Dietetics (NUD) is a two-year higher technical education program offered by universities and institutes of technology under the Ministry of Higher Education in Cameroon. It combines foundational theory with practical, industry-relevant skills to prepare students for employment or further study.

National examinations for HND NUD are organised by the National Commission for the Organisation of the Higher National Diploma Exam. Students sit for papers across the courses listed above, following the exam framework set by the commission. Knowing the structure of each paper — including mark allocation and section breakdown — is essential preparation.
