Medical Laboratory Scientists are the invisible backbone of clinical diagnosis in Cameroon. Every blood test, malaria smear, HIV test, and biochemistry panel depends on skilled laboratory professionals working behind the scenes to produce accurate results.

The program trains you across the key laboratory disciplines — microbiology, haematology, histopathology, and biochemistry. This breadth means you can work across different laboratory departments.

With Cameroon's health system expanding and diagnostic capacity being a major focus of health system strengthening, demand for qualified laboratory scientists is growing.

The HND Medical Laboratory Studies (MLS) is a two-year higher technical education program offered by universities and institutes of technology under the Ministry of Higher Education in Cameroon. It combines foundational theory with practical, industry-relevant skills to prepare students for employment or further study.

National examinations for HND MLS are organised by the National Commission for the Organisation of the Higher National Diploma Exam. Students sit for papers across the courses listed above, following the exam framework set by the commission.
